A national assessment of the improvement of education in Madagascar is meant to be taking place before long. It actually hints that the latest years' implemented reforms to education are definitely history.

The reform of education back on the operation table

The official ceremony in celebration of the 2009-2010 school year’s beginning was a public opportunity for Andry Rajoelina to turn away from Marc Ravalomanana’s led reform of education. By that time, the Malagasy was meant to be chosen as teaching language, the primary cycle was meant to be lengthened to seven years, to adopt the approach by expertise, and to alleviate the school program.

Now, all of Marc Ravalomanana’s reforms are to be dropped to trash. During the ceremony for the school year’s beginning, the president of the Transition announced the forthcoming organization of a national dialogue about the issue of education. In clear words, a new reform is coming up. “The state will not decide alone no more” reiterated Rajoelina.

“Many achievements have been capitalized within the department for education” affirmed the president of the Transition at the time of the ceremony, as to defend his minister Julien Razafimanazato. The latter and his collaborators particularly showed off over the latest days in expectation of being kept in. Various similar moves in this sense have been made since the idea of a new government emerged. Civil servants from the ministry for education have been “invited” to contribute to the advertisement effort.
