The High Authority of Transition has been mastering the opposition's radio waves since May of this year. The Fahazavàna radio station was closed by the government. Ever since, the objectors have been having to make do with sporadic interviews granted to some of Antananarivo's private channels.

The resistance’s media groups on the rise

The HAT’s adversaries are theoretically fully deprived from channels to spread their main messages. They seem however far from having giving the waves’ battle up.

The FJKM church, the Fahazavàna radio station’s owner, decided to publish a newspaper with the same name, for lack of authorization to broadcast anew. Besides, the ministry of communication has desperately been straining for several months to hinder a pirate radio channel named “Radion’ny Gasy” from broadcasting on FM 89.6.every evening.

“Radio’ny Gasy” is a channel technically supposed to broadcast from mobile facilities, for the time being the single station broadcasting the opposition’s messages. The leaders of the opposition are being heard on the channel, spitting sharp criticisms against Andry Rajoelina and his herd empowered since March 2009.
