Camille Vital, former transitional prime minister, openly expressed his “availability” for the next presidential race. Some of transition leader Andry Rajoelina’s collaborators do support him. His TGV party’s leaders do however not fully agree on the issue. Rajoelina’s party has three preferences at a time: Camille Vital, Hajo Andrianainarivelo and Edgar Razafindravahy.

The TGV party struggling to decide between three potential champions

Neither of the TGV party’s most prominent figures, namely Lanto Rakotomavo and Hery Rasoamaromaka, attended the ceremony, during which Camille Vital made his willingness and availability public. A handful of Rajoelina’s collaboraters were there, as a matter of support, among others acting as well as former transitional government members. General Camille Vital might match the perfect candidate’s profile at best for Rajoelina’s supporters stemming from the coastal area. The choice is not widely accepted yet. Views are shared between Edgar Razafindravahy, acting SPD of Antananarivo City, and acting transitional vice prime minister Hajo Andrianarivelo. Rajoelina will be granted the privilege to make the final decision.
