The transitional ministry of defense and the transitional secretary of state in charge of home security department have mustered bodyguards from army, state police and national police units. General Lucien Rakotoarimasy, the acting transitional defense minister, specified that none of the bodyguards currently serving beside each candidate would no more be allowed to protect them any longer. The concerned VIPs will not be allowed to pick their new bodyguards up. This will remain the transitional ministry’s prerogative. Both of the presidential candidates’ reactions are still to be expected.
