Il s'agissait sans doute d'un incendie volontaire. Le parc national d'Isalo, au centre-sud de Madagascar, a été en partie la proie des flammes. Ce parc situé à environ 700 km de la capitale fait partie des sites touristiques les plus visitées de la Grande Ile. Un peu plus de 6000 hectares sur les 81.000 hectares que compte le parc a pris feu. L'origine de l'incendie est encore inconnue.
