The brand new president of the Social Democratic Party has officially resigned during the party’s national congress ceremony currently held in Antsohihy. He openly addressed the growing hostility between the children left by the first republic’s former late president and party founder Philibert Tsiranana. Ruffine Tsirananana used to be the single supporter of Fetison Andrianirina’s leadership of the PSD party. All of the first republic’s heirs stood against him apart from her. “Going forward this way is not likely to pledge any success in our projects. The unity which I was expecting to inspire makes sense if and only if all of the Party’s militants, its heirs and its supporters are joining hands without distinction and march together. On this account, I hereby regretfully announce to the party’s leading office and to all of its members my resignation from the Social Democratic Party’s presidency” declared Fetison Andrianirina in the Congress’ opening ceremony’s speech. Ruffine Tsiranana, the PSD party’s acting Secretary General, did not oppose the decision and immediately accepted the resignation. Le tout nouveau président du Parti Social Démocrate a démissionné lors du Congrès national du parti à Antsohihy. Il a évoqué le désaccord qui existe et qui s'amplifie entre les enfants de feu Philibert Tsiranana, ancien président de la Première République et fondateur du parti. Ruffine Tsiranana a été la seule à être d'accord pour que Fetison Andrianirina dirige le PSD. Tous les autres "héritiers" de la Première République étaient contre."J’estime que poursuivre plus en avant ne nous permettrait pas de réaliser et d’atteindre nos objectifs. Le caractère de rassemblement que j’ai ambitionné n’a de valeur et de sens que si tous les militants du Parti, ses héritiers sans distinction et ses sympathisants s’y sentent représentés pour une ambition commune. Pour ces raisons, c’est avec beaucoup de regret que je vous adresse à vous les membres de bureau et à tous les congressistes ma démission du Parti Social Démocrate" a clamé Fetison dans son discours d'ouverture du Congrès. Alors que Andry Rajoelina a misé sur la propagande et la pré-campagne électorale interdite sauf pour lui-même pour narguer l’organisation régionale qui tenterait de soutenir Marc Ravalomanana dans sa volonté de rentrer au pays et de se porter candidat à la présidentielle, les choses ont changé quand le président en exil s’est laissé convaincre par le président Tanzanien Kikwete de ne pas se présenter.
