Stunning victory for those longing for the three candidates unwanted by one part of the International Community to leave the presidential starting line. In addition to Andry Rajoelina, Lalao Ravalomanana and Didier Ratsiraka, five other candidates must wave goodbye to the presidential race as well. All of them have three days to appoint someone to take their place. The new Special Electoral Court made its decision on August 17th, as an outcome to several days of long debate concerning the possibility to alter the verdict issued by the previous Special Electoral Court. C'est une victoire pour les détracteurs des trois candidats contestés par une frange de la Communauté Internationale. Huit candidats sont éliminés de la course à l’élection présidentielle, dont les trois candidats contestés par une partie des partenaires étrangers de la Grande Ile, à savoir Andry Rajoelina, Lalao Ravalomanana et Didier Ratsiraka.
