The February 7th, 2009´s shoot out will keeps on topping the headlines. The trial has no end. On July 7th, the Criminal Court of Antananarivo confirmed the lifetime forced labour sentence for three officers of the presidential guard under Marc Ravalomanana.

Case February 7th The endless trial

Thus, the general Raoelina and colonels Djadifar and Andriamihoatra recovered their cells in Tsiafahy after the verdict. The defense required colonel Charles Andrianasoavina´s testimony during the trial, but was ignored. This officer who contributed in 2009 to Marc Ravalomanana´s fall, confessed while in jail that snipers had taken position on the surrounding buildings in run of the shoot out. Gunshots definitely not exclusively stemmed from the presidential guards in that day.
Who caused the largest number of casualties on February 7th, 2009 before the palace of Ambohitsorohitra? Everyone is pointing at each other. Marc Ravalomanana´s supporters, president in charge at that time, are convinced that Andry Rajoelina´s collaborators, current Chief of the Transition, ordered unidentified snipers to shoot down as many people as possible in order to put the blame on the now ousted president.
The three officers´defense are intending to lodge an appeal. Marc Ravalomanana is however pushing for an international investigation
