The political crisis has come to mobilize churchmen from various orientations. The Catholics refrained from following suit, from the moment.

Church lambs speak up in the political crisis

In face of the consensus’ hard time between political mobilities, churchmen were keen on vigorously reacting while reminding each and everyone their responsibilities. The political crisis has been far too long, according to this grouping founded by pastors Roger Randriamisata and Irako Andriamahazosoa among others.

A worshipping ceremony has been organized in Antsahamanitra by this grouping christened ” Hetsiky ny mpitondra Fivavahana” or ” Churchmen’s action “. Several hundreds of Christians answered the call. Following the prayer for the nation, a declaration has been read to the believers.

Churchmen have called upon politicians to return to the negotiation table. They condemned the latest attacks directed against freedom of speech and freedom of opinion, while inviting the authorities to reassess the sanctions against the Fahazavàna radio channel, belonging at the FJKM reformed church.

This grouping’s initiatives are considered by the transitional regime’s collaborators as an “allegiance” to the ousted president Marc Ravalomanana, and still vice-president of the FJKM. The concerned pastors have been bitterly criticized by media groups devoted to the president of the High Authority of Transition, Andry Rajoelina.
