A 100% Malagasy solution is on its way. Although the HAT is setting great store on its gains, it is keeping the door opened to a potentially consensual and inclusive transitional process. The ESCOPOL, the Rajoelina sphere´s faction of allies, addressed with the Ravalomanana political sphere resolutions arguably keeping it out of from the Rajoelina influence circle. The stumbling block still remains.

consensus and inclusivness, the 100% Malagasy made solution is dragging its feet

The TGV emphasized its will to hold on to its gains on power, as its allies are straining to tie contacts with the Ravalomanana sphere. Lanto Rakotomavo, the party´s general secretary required unconditional pledge for all of the HAT´s previous unilateral steps as a single way to recover talks, from the other political spheres.

The picture of a so-named inclusive consensus meant to have been reflected by the installation of a parliament collapsed. The politicians who swapped side and supported the Rajoelina sphere were rejected by the original sphere, but the Rajoelina power keeps on trying to rally the real opposition

Paving the way for Mamy Rakotoarivelo, the legitimate president of a true transitional congress, at the expenses of Raharinaivo Andrianantoandro and his TIM party renegades, is off the point. The Ravalomanana sphere would have to put different names in the basket. 26 allocated places out of 300 are anyway not meant to grant any great relevance to any party.

Mamy Rakotoarivelo focuses on the transition´s aftermaths rather than on the transition itself. The Ravalomanana mobility´s representative is making the political truce as well as Marc Ravalomanana´s return on home soil the mobility´s conditions, and emphasized that each and every sphere member expected to serve in transitional institutions have to be named by the sphere leader. This is actually a danger for a Rajoelina sphere eager to keep everyone under its own control.

The so-named moderate Rajoelina wing is willing to engage talks in order to settle the crisis. Former HAT minister Gilbert Raharizatovo is arguing that “the crisis situation was relieved by the national conference and the referendum. Since the four party talks failed due to controversial alliances and generated more stumbling blocks than solutions, negotiations have to be conducted stage after stage, and supervised by the now legal transitional presidency, in compliance with the new constitution.”

The MONIMA party mistrusts this inclusivness dimmed to be deprived from any genuine consensus, and consequently calls upon talks, as a response to the CST members ´statements pledging some more parliamentary seats for the Ravalomanana sphere. The Ratsiraka sphere has already and firmly turned down any integration in any unilaterally erected institution, and the Zafy sphere is swaying.

Marc Ravalomanana called upon relieving tensions in a message to its supporters. “It is high time to draw political conflicts to an end, and push for reconciliation and talks” was stated. Andry Rajoelina has, on his part, called upon an end to hatred and persecution… Despite this shadow of irony from Madagascar´s new king, there is at least a common call upon talks
