Some political groupings are proposing short term elections to put an end to the political crisis, lately represented by the failure to erect the national unity government.

Elections as the solution to the political stumbling block

The political situation is increasingly unsustainable. The national unity government is still blocked.  Andry Rajoelina, the transitional president refuses to make for Maputo for the ultimate round of negotiation. The three other political mobilities involved in the national unity transition’s construction process have let the world know their willingness to head for the Mozambican capital city for a summit meant to be held on December 3rd and 4th.

In face of the plugged up bottleneck, some political groupings are recommending the solution of poles as soon as possible. Norbert Ratsirahonana’s AVI party proposed presidential elections to sort out the crisis once for all. Some others of Rajoelina’s supporters are buying the idea. The Honduran crisis has, somehow, drawn more or less inspiration. The total shamble generated by the poorly prepared election in Honduras ought to provide the Malagasy political class with some causes for concern.

The party Leader Fanilo, then, thinks the election of the congress members to be the priority. This election would determine the various political groupings’ strength.

In between, the outgoing government is peacefully keeping on its duty. During a tour in Antsiranana, on December 2nd, Andry Rajoelina was surrounded by 11 ministers supposed to have hit the road…defiance to the other political mobilities.
