The Zafy mobility held on Tuesday, a first official meeting with its militants and its political figures. Its incentive was the explanation of all results emerged from each stage of the negotiation process in order to avoid any misinterpretation. Emmanuel Rakotovahiny, Transition's Co President, got the opportunity to step pressure up on responsible "men" so that they all make concessions.

Emmanuel Rakotovahiny longs for a rapid consensus between the four heads of the executive power

Declarations are crashing between the Rajoelina and Ravalomanana mobilities in a bitter struggle for strategic sovereignty ministries, arbitrated by the Ratsiraka mobility. The Zafy mobility wants to ease the hard game. “Do silence your declarations, there are neither winners nor losers”, declared the Transition’s Co President Emmanuel Rakotovahiny in reference to the Addis Ababa meeting. “These crushing declarations are not helping, the Malagasy people is tired of them”, he added.

The Transition’s Co President is confident as for the erection of the national unity government by the four mobilities. He has confronted politicians with their responsibilities in face of the international community’s pending sanctions, could the agreements of Maputo and Addis Ababa fail to succeed. “Do we look for death or for survival”, hewondered. According to Emmanuel Rakotovahiny, this consensus is a life and death question for the population. “Malagasy are going to tell us: you are not serious, you are pretending to direct us though you are not even capable of getting on well to drive the country out of from the crisis”.

According to Emmanuel Rakotovahiny, the solution to unblock the situation is up to the four figures on top of the transitional regime’s executive power. “If we four agree to concede to a common ground, stumbling blocks will be removed”, he affirmed. The former Prime minister regretted that no presidential Council between the Transition’s president and both of the Co Presidents has yet taken place. ” Andry Rajoelina must invite us, not at all because he is the superior, rather because we, contrary to him, have no office…”, he underlined. “Would I have to invite them at my home?”, he added while nearly satirizing on the Rajoelina mobility’s funny reluctance to grant a place in the presidential palace of Iavoloha to both Co Presidents.

There will be no government without consensus, admitted the Zafy mobility. It still remains optimistic though, and believes that Prime minister Mangalaza’s staff will be known by the end of the week. “One mere morning or afternoon is largely enough to settle the issue if political will is in for it”, insisted Emmanuel Rakotovahiny. “It is man’s question, the men do not want to make any concession “, he… conceded. The Transition’s Co President is calling upon the mobility leaders’ good will. “Having to resort to the international community to complete the sharing of ministries will be adding up to Madagascar’s shame”, he warned. Manoro Régis, the Zafy mobility’s spokesman, is not that blunt. “We are already used to the ICG (International Contact Group), its intervention might prove necessary again”, he hinted
