While waiting for the political situation as well as his statute to change, the Co President of the late Transition is calling upon moderation.

Fetison Andrianirina making a call from his hideaway

The arrest warrant against Fetison Andrianiriana has not been suspended. The HAT Justice ministry was anxious to specify this, following the transitional Co President’s meeting with Jean Ping, President of the African Commission, during his stay in the Malagasy capital.
The HAT’s private radio Viva, belonging to Andry Rajoelina, even specified that shortly before the meeting, Fetison Andrianiriana’s home has been surrounded by militaries. In other words, the suspect was granted a simple reprieve and a short temporary release.
Fetison Andrianirina kept on calling upon moderation though, in spite of all those threattening roars. “We must address reconciliation” he argued. The Transition’s Cochairman is longing for the implementation of the Maputo agreements, in view of a “consensual” and “inclusive” Transition.
Even the Rajoelina cartel increasingly gets divided by the issue of the never ending arrests related to the current political situation. Roland Ratsiraka, vice-president of the High Authority of Transition, let it be known that he does not believe it to be the right way to ease political tensions. His thoughts might, however, go down like a lead balloon. Fetison’s time on the open air is dangerously ticking. He is being indicted in the fantastic exploding devices which did not burst, but abundantly fed press’ first pages instead, in 2009, shortly after the putsch back in mid-March.
