Madagascans in expectation of the ICG resolutions

The Malagasy political crisis’ mediators and representatives of the international community are assessing the different political mobilities’ proposals. They will soon have to make a decision about the crisis’ settlement’s new path. 

Andry Rajoelina has emphasized his stand again on the eve of February 18th’s meeting. The young putsch maker is definitely anxious to organize his legislative elections in May. As taking the lead on the Contact Group, he reiterated that he is not afraid of sanctions, and that “the Malagasy people should not be sacrificed”. 

The three other political mobilities loyal to the Maputo agreements are expecting a firm decision from the international community. The Malagasy crisis is currently stranded because of Rajoelina’s betrayal of his own word given in Maputo and Addis Ababa.
