The Rajoelina mobility was thrillingly waiting for the ousted president to give in to the "franco-Rajoelina roadmap" on Wednesday April 28th, 2010. The HAT leader made it believe the move to South Africa to be a consecration. Marc Ravalomanana denied to be the stumbling block's source and presented perfectly legitimate conditions.

Marc Ravalomanana: the pledge for democratic elections is the single condition

Fears of failure are stirring tensions up in Pretoria, South African city welcoming one more of the Madagascan crisis’ settlement  meeting. In the end, it would have proved to be everything but a simple ceremonial signature of an unilateral foregone draft. Both of the main actors are rejecting the first day’s failure on one another.

On Friday, the ousted president Marc Ravalomanana responded to the statements produced by Madagascar’s authoritarian regime leader. “The Malagasy people cannot bear another failure, and I don’t want to be responsible of it”, he declared.

Marc Ravalomanana is definitely willing to keep on with “talks”in order to find a political solution to the crisis. So has the supposed foregone agreement allegedly requiring nothing else but signatures passed away.

Andry Rajoelina mentioned a dead end: There are the requirements from the former president which I cannot accept”, he said. Marc Ravalomanana replied with wore subtility that he would tackle Thursday” without further conditions but those pledging free, transparent and reliable elections “.

Andry Rajoelina refused to grant those conditions ” required” by president Ravalomanana. The HAT error margin is extremely tricky for having to deal with the ousted president in order to expect international recognition. The difficulty is to convince Ravalomanana to provide blessing for the HAT with nothing in return. Allowing  exiled president’s return on home soil is an announced defeat for the Rajoelina mobility. Therefore, it hastily denied that Marc Ravalomanana would be able to join Antananarivo from the incoming week end on.

Andry Rajoelina’s refusal to face up to a head to head match with Marc Ravalomanana fooled his own propaganda and dug a gap between both fronts. The HAT leader is believing the opening of his government led by general Camille Vital, and the organization of a legislative election within three months to be far enough. His roadmap remains confused, namely about the erection of the parliament.

The Ravalomanana mobility is longing for nothing but Maputo’s power sharing standards to be respected. Together with the Zafy and Ratsiraka mobilities, it is calling upon national reconciliation and amnesty. Andry Rajoelina argued thatonly deputies who are going to decide about this particular issue. Is this going to convince the joint three mobilities to give in to the HAT roadmap through an unconditional participation to elections? Maybe yes, surely no.
