The exiled president´s potential come back is drawing the case February 7th back on top of the headlines. The dictating authority is reacting, as its main and single weapon is fragilized. Marc Ravalomanana declared few days ago that he had no fear of prison sentences and labeled the HAT justice´s condemnations as baseless. The case February 7th is likely to become a two edged sword.

Marc Ravalomanana´s potential come back is reviving the case February 7th.

The announced potential return of Marc Ravalomanana on home soil is automatically driving to addressing his potential fate. “He is responsible of his decision, he knows how things are running in Madagascar” declared Mamy Rakotoarivelo.

Through series of openly politically monitored trials, the HAT reached condemnations for the elected president reversed by its putsch: forced labor in the case lots in Andohatapenaka, jail sentence and a curious fine as costly as three 747s in the case purchase of a presidential aircraft. It proved however not enough to stain the president´s reputation, and only removed more from the ruling power´s credit.

The dictating power is consequently putting all of its money on the case February 7th in order to drown Marc Ravalomanana for good: life prison sentence for having ordered to open fire during the TGV failed assault on the palace of Ambohitsorohitra on February 7th 2009. But the mysterious snipers hidden outside the palace is starting to be considered.

That time´s president emphasized that he never ordered to open fire and that the presidential guard only completed its duty as repelling the assault on the palace. Marc Ravalomanana has been calling upon an international independent investigation since there was far many more victims than bullets shot by the guard.

The HAT has its main argument being jeopardized since the beginning of 2011. On the concerned day, the self proclaimed president gave his first ever order, the assault on the palace, in order to install an insurgent government, as the building  was belonging to the city. After the shoot out, the weeping self proclaimed leader denounced an ambush operated by snipers from surrounding hights.

According to the latest news revealed by one of the year 2009´s putsch´s participant, these snipers were in no way serving the presidency but rather the putsch´s masterminds. Andry Rajoelina would still be able to plead on his absence from the scene. Marc Ravalomanana wasn´t there either however. In the end, the HAT´s monitored trial has never ever questioned the movement´s leaders´ responsibilities in the tragedy.

The march on the palace was aiming at staining the president´s reputation with blood from scratch in order to topple him. The Ravalomanana sphere is appearing confident concerning this political trial: “no truth will be unveiled as long as the putsch makers are in control of the investigation”. The startled HAT is now resorting to the victims´ families, organizing shows on the national TV channel, and reminding that the ousted president took their relatives´ lives away
