Mediation council: Noel Rakotonandrasana the new prophet

General Rakotonandrasana’s offer to Andry Rajoelina is on stand by. The Joint Superior Council for Mediation and Ethics remains what it has always been, a project. Although this organization is not really matching either the roadmap or the transitional mindset, the suspected putsch is the real account of the HAT silence. The former HAT national Defense Minister is straining to convince: “this advice will be accepted by the Malagasy people for being conceived the Malagasy way… It will the milestone for long term solutions to the country’s various problems”.

Home grown mediation is not a scoop in itself; FFKM churches have previously been asked to endorse the leading role, with little success. The JSCME is therefore being presented as the providential magic wand meant to grant legitimacy to the HAT and its authority. Could Andry Rajoelina quit playing a deaf ear, the international community would be seduced without a doubt, according to Noel Rakotonandrasana. The general recalled a proposition allegedly made by international mediators themselves: “Could you find a home grown solution, so better”.
