The SADC’s permanent office in Antananarivo is preparing the summit deemed to take place between former President Marc Ravalomanana and the current head of the transition, Andry Rajoelina. Local representatives of the SADC will be getting in touch with the other groups which signed the roadmap for ending the crisis, and keep on consulting the other main decision makers in the Malagasy political crisis.

Meeting between Ravalomanana and Rajoelina by the beginning of July

The meeting between the main wire pullers in the longest crisis ever experienced in Madagascar is expected to take place by the beginning of July according to a diplomatic source. July 4th was proposed by the press in Antananarivo. Both concerned staffs do consider for the moment that the meeting will take place before July 15th. The Angolan president and current chairman of SADC, Jose Eduardo Dos Santos, push for the organization of the meeting as soon as possible.

The supporters of Marc Ravalomanana yearned for this meeting to be held in Antananarivo, but they won’t get satisfaction. The meeting will most likely take place in the Angolan capital city, Luanda. The eventual organization of this meeting in the Madagascan capital city would indeed have been an opportunity for Ravalomanana to recover home soil, in accordance with the famous Article 20 of the roadmap, after longer than three years of political exile spent in South Africa.
