The potential meeting between Marc Ravalomanana and Andry Rajoelina, without the other political mobilities basically bound by the Maputo deals, is sharply opposed. The Didier Ratsiraka and Albet Zafy mobility spokespersons are denouncing the French initiative. The resumption of four and only four party talks is paramount.

Negotiations: The two horses race is a cause for political and ethnic tensions

All of the parties bound by the Maputo and Addis-Ababa agreements should meet again, and jointly implement the deal meant to end the crisis up. So reads Marc Ravalomanana, Didier Ratsiraka and Albert Zafy’s common wish. The recent roadmap recently drafted by France and South Africa seems, however, to be sticking to a head to head deal between Marc Ravalomanana and Andry Rajoelina.

“Negotiations being restricted to Antananarivians by birth is absolute fantasy” protested Emmanuel Rakotovahiny, the Albert Zafy mobility’s spokesman, as well as the transitional co chairman pledged by the Maputo and Addis Ababa agreements.

Any exclusive Marc Ravalomanana vs. Andry Rajoelina will lead to nothing but dangerous ethnic tensions, this we know to be true. One way or the other, a solution framed in full compliance with the Maputo agreement will have to be dealt. So reads the common stand of the Marc Ravalomanana, Didier Ratsiraka and Albert Zafy mobilities. Negotiations would basically be resuming in Johannesburg on April 24th or 25th.
