Former President Albert Zafy was understandibly keen on reminding to Andry Rajoelina that he only owes his designation as Transition's premier to nothing else but a consensus, and in no way to an election. The president of the Transition is accused by Albert Zafy of being the burden in the transitional government members nomination process.

Political stumbling block: Albert Zafy points at Andry Rajoelina

The president of the Transition, Andry Rajoelina, wants to govern with the ministers appointed before the agreements between political mobilities, could any consensus on the key ministries fail to emerge. This initiative “is against the Maputo and Addis-Ababa mindsets”, replied Albert Zafy, one of the Malagasy political mobility leaders.

The setting up of the new government has turned into a new crisis within the political crisis in the Great Isle. “There is no more government in Madagascar” specified Albert Zafy. The appointment of new ministers for the national unity government is, according to him, the unique way out of from this crisis. Since the ministries of the previous High Authority of Transition are being consider as “outgoing” since the departure of Monja Roindefo, and since the appointment of the national unity Prime minister, Eugene Mangalaza.

The new Prime minister has, since his official appointment, effectively refrained from any contact with the ministers of the HAT. He preferred to organize working sessions with ministries’ general secretaries.

The international mediators are not keen on making a fuss on the issue. They do not believe any more mobility leaders’ meeting to be necessary, because “there is nothing left but merely the assignment of some ministerial seats”.
