The group of "young officers", heroes of the Coup of March 2009, and to that day the HAT president's armed hand within the "presidency's security council", has warned the three other mobilities against any attempt to get any sovereignty ministry. This pressure from a fringe of the army is denounced by everybody, and first by the national defense secretary.

Pressure on mobilities: the TGV officers disowned

They exchanged their Kalashnikovs for a micro but still want to appear always as so deterrent. The influential members of the “young officers’ group” emerged from their regular silence to defend their camp: the political interest of the one they helped to take the power in March 2009. Subsequently rewarded by Andry Rajoelina, they are proudly parading their five dazzling buttons on the shoulders. Now they want to defend their gained sovereignty law. “The law pledges national sovereignty ministries to the chief of state in his quality of sovereignty guarantor”, protested colonel Fomana. There are laws to be accepted, and especially to be respected “, added colonel Elack.

The presidency’s Security Council at Andry Rajoelina’s service enters in the power sharing battle. The duet of former commanders Lyson and Charles is back on the dance floor. “The sovereignity functions pledged to a chief of the state should not be disputed”, emphasized Lt-Colonel Lylson René, previous ” CNME political police”‘s squadron chief, promoted commander of the special Task force.

The Lt-Colonel Charles Andrianasoavina, a regular of violent operations, amazingly produced a theatrically soft and wise wanted speech. “Here is our call upon mobilities: Mr Andry Rajoelina already made concessions; according to the sovereignty law, you must not have a say about the six sovereignty ministries”, he warned. “We are calling upon your good will not to complicate the situation further more; could you keep on your mind, you will be blamed for getting the country stranded”, he added.

Andry Rajoelina’s musclemen are, thus, referring to sovereignty rights to keep in control of  the ministries for national Defense, Finance, Budget, Justice, Foreign Affairs and the Interior. The national defense minister immediately disowned the presidency’s “young proxy officers” by recalling their compulsory silence on political questions, himself and the joint chief of staff being the single ones used to speak in the name of the army. General Noel Rakotonandrasana even believes that these officers are deserving a sanction, as the completion of the attempt to rule himself out of the assessment produced by his cadets who actively took part in March 2009’s events, just as he did.

Politicians are disputing this sovereignty right claimed by Andry Rajoelina and his proxies. The president of the Transition has well been directly elected, but only as mayor of Antananarivo city. His chief of the state statute is hanging by an agreement between the country’s four political mobilities, in other words, by a thread. He must share power with two Transition’s Co President and a National Unity Prime minister. The Ravalomanana mobility can nothing but look down with amazement at those officers’ spectacle with their statements. The Zafy mobility is denouncing a childish military pressure which, in the present situation, happens to be a shot in the dark.
