For the first time ever in the Great Isle's political history, a Prime minister is being denied the stay in his own home country by one of the ministers, moreover by an outgoing one. The Maputo process is, from now on, history. Mangalaza can logically nothing but resigning.

Prime Minister Eugene Mangalaza’s expected resignation

In his TV broadcast intervention on December 16th, Andry Rajoelina reiterated his determination to hit the road on his own, without any other political mobility, and out of the consensual process established by the political agreements of Maputo and Addis Ababa. Besides, he estimated the appointment of new governmental staff members to be unnecessary before legislative elections meant to be held on March 20th, 2010.

However, Andry Rajoelina does not intend to fire Eugene Mangalaza, the national unity Prime minister from the Didier Ratsiraka mobility, for so much. That Prime minister was yet supposed to put a national unity government in place, whose members were supposed to be designated by the four mobilities signatory of the Maputo agreements. Could he be remaining in charge, he would have to deal with an outlaw government which never gained recognition either from the international community or from any political orientations in Madagascar.

Good sense wants Eugene Mangalaza to present his resignation, once being back in the country. And so are we back to the starting line up. Lord Andry Rajoelina is determined to carry on “his” transition, no strings attached.
