Andry Rajoelina has addressed the press like a genuine little es democracy professor! The president of the HAT keeps on defending his project to hold on to his legislative election without having to cope with the other mobilities. He is standing by his incoming reforms to grant any shadow of legitimacy to a vote proving more that controversial.

Rajoelina is campaining for his future” perfect election”

The arbitrary and one-sided act to institute democracy, so reads Andry Rajoelina’s point, at least the point he wants the other to buy. “True democracy is about returning power to the people “, he emphasized as a pledge for his incoming legislative election.  The president of the HAT is no more as uncompromising as earlier on the date that he enacted. “Whether for the 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd of March or April, the date is not the most important thing”, he tried to moderate. This additional U-turn is also originated from the HAT’s need for more inclusive and national unity make up for its personal election. Andry Rajoelina did not miss the opportunity to attack the former presidents who have been ousted from power. “Why does the people always go down to the street to bring a leader down? Because the people’s choice has been mislead”, he said, adding that it is a matter of fact in countries lead by dictators.

“There will be an election as there has never been before… this organization of a free and transparent election will be second to none all over Africa”, Andry Rajoelina is continuously making propaganda for his vote. He is boasting electoral reforms from top to bottom though even the pledged timeline is, from scratch, a cause for serious doubts on the announced perfection’s realism. The biggest change would concern the electoral list. “It has always been impossible to check electoral list up, be it to candidates orto voters “, said the young president of the HAT.

There used to be voters registered several times, from now on, everyone will be able to check up. It will be hard to vote twice”, explained Andry Rajoelina, hinting that all of the previous elections were forcibly tampered. Such a plot has, actually, never ever been possible at the necessary scale to reverse the sway. For a local election in Antananarivo, 100 000 voters registered at least twice would have been needed to make an impact on the result. “Candidates will be able to check that registered voters trully are the written address’ resident “, said Andry Rajoelina. It is, of course, an easier thing to say than to capitalize. The stunning effect of a successful large scale showtime actually is the TGV’s single goal. In other words, there can be no fraud since checkup opportunities do exist, although not being always available, let alone realistic.

The reform’s other important point promised by Andry Rajoelina is the implementation of the use of the single ballot.  “We intentionally bought the idea… Beforehand, your ballots had no chance to reach the place they had to if you were a candidate despised by the leadership”, he pretended. The truth actually is that, small calibre and sometimes fanciful candidates cannot even support the charges of printing the necessary ballots. Andry Rajoelina, then, denied his control over his vote. “The administration is merely providing support, the CENI will be starring in the leading role”, he argued. This commission will be made of figures stemming from the civilian society such as journalists, a university professor of law, an electoral observer, or also members human rights defence associations…
