The Ravalomanana and Zafy political spheres are not bound to sign up to the roadmap proposed by the SADC led mediation. Both parties are amazed when noticing that the document patched up by Leonardo Simao is so much pledging the Rajoelina sphere, as not even a legal president has so much power. Mamy Rakotoarivelo is coming up to wondering whether the international community is really keen on sanctioning Andry Rajoelina´s 2009 led putsch.

Simao´s roadmap: disappointing partiality according to Mamy Rakotoarivelo

The other spheres are proposing, Andry Rajoelina is deciding, so read the roadmap proposed by the SADC´s envoy. The HAT leader would be entitled to a nearly divine power in a legal transition. Did Leonardo Simao buy the HAT led unilateral policy? The referendum used to cover the year 2009´s putsch up must have played a role into this. The SADC is however not pledging recognition to this transitional republic, since it is still playing the mediation role for the sake of a real transition. The misuse of democratic tools in order to grant legitimacy for a putsch is officially in no way accepted by the international community.

“we were amazed by the SADC´s roadmap. It felt like as if the international community was fooling us, this roadmap was pledging the putsch organized by Andry Rajoelina” emphatically said Mamy Rakotoarivelo. The Ravalomanana delegation chief is arguing that the military sphere´s suspicion motivated by putsch allegations is already a proof. “Why would the international community support a putsch originated regime?” wondered Mamy Rakotoarivelo.

“Far too much power would be entitled to Andry Rajoelina, if he is the one taking the final stand on ministers” was outlined. As long as their names are not clearly mentioned in the deal, the authority´s leader is likely to  deny proposals, those concerning the institutions´chiefs indeed. “A non elected president having more power than a democratically elected one is absolute nonsense” vociferated Mamy Rakotoarivelo. Zafy Albert and his sphere is emulating, when displaying their will to restrict this absolute power deemed to be granted to the dictating regime´s leader.

Mamy Rakotoarivelo, the genuine TIM party´s secretary general, regretted that Simao´s draft was contributing to Rajoelina´s plans to rule President Ravalomanana out: “We are disappointed by the lack of consideration for the 54% of Malagasy voters who officially and legally brought him to power in 2006. President Ravalomanana cannot and must not be ruled out of from the constitutional order recovery process”.

Simao´s roadmap is practically the Rajoelina solution´s clone. The TGV-UDR alliance swiftly accepted the document. The transition is, in the end, merely holding the balance of forces after the year 2009´s putsch, according to which an municipally elected figure is dominating the transitional congress.
