Clerical leaders are organizing series of religious ceremonies throughout Madagascar's eastern part from the forthcoming week on. It would be the first ever demonstration outside the capital city.

The Clerical Leaders’ Movement is spreading

Clerical leaders are going to lead religious ceremonies throughout several communes of Madagascar’s center east as Moramanga, Vatomandry and so on.

Since the beginning of their movement, its founding pastors have been sharply criticized by the High Authority of Transition. They are accused of acting in support of the exiled president Marc Ravalomanana, actually still the acting vice president of the FJKM reformed church. All pastors who direct the movement of the religious leaders currently are indeed descended of the FJKM.

The HAT is not inclined to search for differences between an open air religious ceremony organized by the clerical leaders’s movement and and a rally supportive of Marc Ravalomanana. The movement’s pastors confirmed the repeated arrest and even death threats directed at them. All the same though, they announced that nothing would hinder them from keeping moving forward. Their message is the following one: the quest for justice.
