Marc Ravalomanana's partisans have resumed their demonstrations on the Magro square, lately baptized Legality Place.

The legalistic demonstration is back to the Magro square

Following Marc Ravalomanana’s orders, the exiled president’s partisans have been resuming their demonstration since Saturday August 29th, a day after the end of the second Summit of Maputo.

During Saturday’s gathering, Marc Ravalomanana intervened live on the phone line to encourage his supporters “to keep the struggle going”. He was keen on specifying that the consensus is impossible, as long as the Rajoelina mobility plays a deaf ear.

The “legalistic” gathering resumed on Monday August 31st on the Magro Square in Ankorondrano. In accordance with the Transition’s Charter signed in Maputo on August 9th, the four mobilities gave themselves one month to put all of the Transition’s institutions in place.

A week away from the deadline though, negotiations are stranded in a dead end. A political figure from the Ravalomanana mobility made it clear, however, that talks could resume within a few days in the Malagasy capital city, in order to complete the designation of the three main leaders of the Transition’s executive branch, the main blocking factor, namely the Prime minister, the vice-president and the president of the Transition.
