Andry Rajoelina does not want to pull back any more, though legislative elections of March 20th are still contested, even in his own camp.

The legislative elections of March 20th: the division bell within the HAT

The president of the HAT wants to keep on with March 20th as the legislative elections’ deadline whatever it takes. The young putsch maker’s disciples have an indefectible faith into them. The organization of the votes is increasingly turning into a cause for division within the political class and the civilian society, let alone the international community.

The KMF CNOE, so far the reference in electoral observation, rated elections meant to be held on March 20th as a utopia. And it is not the only one to believe that all the institutions supposed to contribute to an election’s correct organization, have to be set prior to staging elections themselves.

Even some political parties close to Rajoelina, including Pety Rakotoniaina’s Tambatra, would currently agree to postpone the elections. How on earth could stability and social peace after the vote be restored when agreements about its very organization are failing to be dealt? wondered a member of the opposition.

Partisans of the HAT are, however, convinced that one more of president of the Transition’s eventual U-turn would simply be a sign of political immaturity.
