In response to the concern made public by some of the transitional regime's allied political figures, the Home Affairs ministry was anxious to specify that the HAT led elections' law drafts are almost ready.

The next elections’ laws in preparation

Manorohanta Cécile, deputy Prime minister in charge of the Interior ministry brought further explanations. Even the High Authority of Transition’s members are expressing doubts concerning May’s legislative elections as a done deal.

The HAT Interior ministry specified that the law drafts related to the next vote are currently assessed by various ministerial departments.

During a recent intervention, Roland Ratsiraka openly urged the government to speed up. The legislative elections still got the focus by then. But Andry Rajoelina’s close collaborators dangerously seem increasingly inclined to dare a referendum prior to the legislative and presidential elections. The High Authority of Transition will probably have to make a choice before long.
