THe opposition for the referendum´s cancellation

The High Constitutional Court has just recieved a request.. Opponents to the referendum and supporters of the NO vote require the referendum to be simply cancelled, packed up and dropped.

This popular consultation was a string of irregularities, namely those related to electoral registers. Only in Antananarivo, more than 100.000 voters were left out of registers, although the national number of voters has increased this year. The trick allowed the authorities to boost the referendum´s participation rate

Temporary results revealed a 52% high participation rate, and a sweeping victory for the YES (74%). In all of Madagascar´s 22 regions,  the NO only won that of the Bongolava
