No political prisoner has been freed since the ratification of the Additional Act in Addis Ababa. The appreciation gap between the different political mobilities is a genuine a huge gulch.

The political prisoners’ case as the latest division bell

The political prisoners’ issue in Madagascar is presently sensitive. The High Authority of Transition’s Justice minister, Christine Razanamahasoa, still in charge until the appointment of a new government, believes that there is only one political prisoner in the Great Isle, Raharainaivo Andrianantoandro, previous parliamentarian from the TIM party, held in custody for two months so far.

Marc Ravalomanana’s partisans have a list of fifty of their own behind bars because of facts directly related to the year 2009’s political crisis. The “legalistic” headquarters specially opened doors on November 19th, to families and relatives of those arrested along this year’s political events.

The most pressing issue for Marc Ravalomanana’s partisans is that arrests are still occurring until now. One bodyguard of the Transition’s Co President, Fetison Andrianirina, has been arrested by policemen at the beginning of week. His wife was part of those who appeared in the “legalistic” base camp to present their claims. “He has been investigated to the criminal Brigade before being submitted to the public prosecutor’s office and held in custody on the same day for confused motives” she added.

According to Christine Razanamahasoa, all of Marc Ravalomanana’s partisans currently  in jail are common rights prisoners. The legalistic are thinking otherwise. Arrests were, are actually related to the political crisis whatever the charges.
