Ravalomanana sphere’s supporters and radicalized legalistic ones founded the Democratic Alliance, a political group of parties openly opposed to the authorities labeled as putsch originated power. The Union for Democratic Process was created and so named in order to avoid any confusion with the civil society’s Alliance currently getting a move on to settle the crisis. The UDP has clearly been displaying its opposition to the HAT deal from scratch.

The Union for Democratic Press rejects the HAT political deal

The Union for Democratic Press is gathering parties included into the Ravalomanana sphere, as well as various parties and figures with legalistic trends, definitely condemning the disguised putsch conducted in 2009, and requiring the recovery of constitutional order. Former parliamentarians stemming from the TIAKO I MADAGASIKARA party are appearing on the group’s front line, Jean Louis Rakotoamboa’s TEZA party, Manandafy Rakotonirina’s MFM, pastor Andrianalijaona Andriamanampy’s AMF3FM, and lots of legalistically trending figures.

A “Democratic Alliance” would have phonetically far too close to the civil society’s Alliance. Let it be recalled that the rajoelina sphere’s supporter previously accused the latter of being close to the Ravalomanana sphere, and significantly criticized the Alliance, led by Mrs. Lalao Randrimampionona, the wife of the Ravalomanana regime’s former Public Infrastructure minister.

The Democratic Alliance equally altered its name in order to preserve its independence from a civil society actually agreeing on the way to settle the crisis, namely the implementation of agreements signed in Maputo and Addis Ababa. Such an alleged connection is likely to be history, now that both of the civil society’s trends, the Alliance and the Coalition, capitalized their shake hand in the erection of the CNOSC, a kind of home made mediator in the Malagasy crisis.

For the time being, the Union is militating for the resumption of talks and rejects the political deal concluded in Ivato as a solution. Presidents Ravalomanana and Ratsiraka’s return on home soil prior to the national conference is equally being required. According to the TEZA party’s Jean Louis Rakotoamboa, restoring inclusiveness, consensus and credibility is the single pledge of success for consultations.

As concerning the President Marc Ravalomanana, Jean Louis Rakotoamboa reported that he learnt the hard way, in face of the significant number of traitors having left the ship, an attack against some of the TIM party members who gave in to the HAT. The Union for Democratic Process definitely rejected Raharinaivo Andrianatoandro’s latest move. A potential opened door is hanging upon a genuine political agreement between the crisis’ genuine actors.

The Ravalomanana and Ratsiraka political spheres are not buying the offer produced by a HAT still dying for keeping a grip on the transitional process up to the 4th Republic’s advent. They publicly denounce the HAT ‘s umpteenth way to manufacture fake consensus and fake inclusiveness in order to lure the international community
