A wing of the Arema party would be preparing a national convention. Some members of the political office are denying.

The war-game within the Arema back to surface

Since the former president, Didier Ratsiraka, decided to retake control of the Arema party, the situation has been getting quite tricky within the previously empowered party. The indoor quarrels are from settled.

Some barons of the Arema would allegedly organize a national convention of the party by the end of this November. The denial was quick to emerge from the political office. “There will be no national convention of the Arema party before President Didier Ratsiraka’s return in Madagascar” argued a certain Heritafika Ratsimbazafy, a member of the party’s political office. Heritafika Ratsimbazafy was keen on recalling that Pierrot Rajaonarivelo is no more the Arema’s national Secretary.

During the latest few years, dissensions within the Arema between partisans of Didier Ratsiraka, the party’s founding father, and sympathizers of Pierrot Rajaonarivelo, national Secretary since 1997, had become an open secret.

The political crisis of 2009 became the admiral Ratsiraka’s opportunity to come back under the spotlights, in spite of a fragile physical health. He decided to recover the party’s leadership and cast Pierrot Rajaonarivelo aside by the same way. The latest is currently noticed somewhere next to the Albert Zafy mobility, as to express his frustration to a former boss unwilling to have a successor without having a say on the subject.
