The whales festival rhymes with environmental protection

The passage of the whales East of Madagascar is always a great spectacle. For a few years, this period of the year has given place to a cultural festival on the island of Sainte-Marie, in the East of the country. Like every year, concerts and various cultural events are organized during the festival of the whales, from August 23rd to the 26th.

The Megaptera association which is implied primarily in the protection of the whales, is also committed in Zagnaharibe. In addition, the guest of honor, for the sixth edition of the festival, is the singer Mily Clément, an artist engaged enough in the safeguard of the environment in Madagascar.

This year, the organizers of the festival of the whales await approximately 25.000 people in the various demonstrations. The preceding edition indeed counted some 15.000 visitors and spectators.

The festival of the whales is thus an occasion to discover at the same time the whales in their natural environment, and, in same time, to better familiarize itself with the local culture. An event which deserves a visit, the more so as all this occurs on the beautiful island from Sainte-Marie.
