The authorization finally granted by Antananarivo's police forces was a good surprise for the coalition made of the three anti-Rajoelina mobilities. Rajoelina's departure for New-York at the time of the United Nation's general assembly has significantly eased things. A refusal would have tarnished the picture of the young president of the HAT, labelled as a democrat turned by power into a dictator, according to his objectors.

Three mobilities in Mahamasina to decode the agreements of Maputo

The answer is “yes “. The Police Prefect Edward Andrianjafinarivo has granted the precious green light to occupy the Mahamasina stadium.  Partisans from the Zafy mobilities and Ratsiraka are going to join the legalistic and to the pro-Ravalomanana camp for a big political demonstration so far forbidden and repressed by the authorities of the transition. The official meeting’s purpose is a campaign to explain the agreements signed in Maputo to the population.

Fetison Andrianirina recalled that the consensus sealed between the three mobilities is motivated by the will to implement the charter’s contents signed in Maputo. A couple of weeks to the arrival of international mediators, the legalistic camps is keen on displaying its disapproval of the HAT made unilateral set up of a government. The vice Prime in charge of interior affairs, supposed to be representing the Ravalomanana mobility, has created the surprise by confirming his neutrality and indeed his very personal commitment in the Monja Roindefo II government .

Disowning Monja Roindefo is, therefore, the objective of the three anti-HAT mobilities, including the legalistic camp. The Prime minister of the transition is campaigning on end to cling to his seat. The danger for Monja Roindefo is to stem from his own camp. In the Rajoelina mobility ranks, proposals in favour of a genuine national unity prime minister are increasingly popping up, provided that the HAT president remains on top. The Leader Fanilo party is asking the three other mobilities to put a Prime minister forth. The Ratsiraka mobility responded first by proposing the former minister Aristide Velompanahy, seen that the transitional government chief’s position was meant to be his, according to negotiations made in Maputo.

In Mahamasina, the agreements signed in Maputo will be decoded. If the debate used to be focused on Prime minister Monja Roindefo all along these latest days, the presidency  transition’s presidency will definitely be back on the operation table. The Rajoelina mobility didn’t give up his so-called gains as claiming popular endorsement on the place of May 13th. As for the electoral legitimacy, we have got Antananarivo’s mayor elected by 62% and a former presidential candidate and its 0,001%, whereas the other mobility leaders have all been elected President of the Republic by more than 50% of nation wide votes. Following their logic, the concerned individuals have not given up an inch of the toughly acquired power way back in March 2009 with the help of a mere fringe of the army.

The politically correct implementation of the agreements signed in Maputo should put Andry Rajoelina to on top of a national unity government, as chief of the opposition to the elected president. This solution is even more suitable, especially since Marc Ravalomanana has already turned down taking any part in the management of the transition. As outgoing president, he would be entitled to the designation of the Transition’s president, a figure from his mobility. The position would be merely symbolic since state business would be managed by the government.
