Andry Rajoelina launched his " Tsena mora " project in with the perfect, or the worst possible timing, it's up to the viewer's personal perspective. Better later than never according to the former mayor of Antananarivo, who promised low prices' first need goods in order to draw the crowd to reverse the elected president. In the end, nobody but the state is going to pay for the costly operation, to the liking of enthusiastic business groups able to sell out their stocks in crisis period .

The TGV’s ” tsena mora”: one more promise

Oil for 2500 ariary per liter, rice for 500 ariary per kilogram, soap for 100 ariary each, sugar for 1000 ariary per kilogram, so read the promises made by Andry Rajeolina who made Tiko’s domination an argument to bring the Ravalomanana regime down. After the exhaustion of rice stocks belonging to… Tiko… sold out by the state for 500 ariary per kilogram, the HAT leader ran short of arguments though his regime is now, more than ever, in search of a propaganda to survive. The worst is still to come, the “rice for ar 500” operation was a communication setback. Abuses under cover of alleged due debts to the state made a steady supply impossible.

In the end, the promised low prices first need supplies from Middle Orient’s countries happened to be pure propaganda. The market has been flooded by low-quality products which still are slightly as expensive as former products. One month to the first electoral test, Andry Rajoelina had to react. On one hand, the constitutional referendum is supposed to legalize his power as transition president, and on the other hand, to pave his electoral way to the presidency while ruling out his adversaries out of the race. The “Tsena mora mitsinjo ny malagasy” campaign is not being made a secret at all. The TGV proudly displays its blue and orange colors. The message is direct: “he promised that he would do it”. He, is Andry Rajoelina, and he promised to lower prices.

The “promise” is now being capitalized, isn’t it? It will be restricted both in time and space however. The” Tsena mora” will nowhere take place but in the HAT leader’s city, and a little later, in his Prime minister’s one. A whole nation will have to sacrifice. a share of its returns, in order to capitalize the TGV propaganda campaign. “Industrial groups are also contributing, some of made offered a discount of 35%” said Andry Rajoelina. For the Union of Madagascar’s industries, the move is neither a pledge for the TGV propaganda nor a charity act for consuming voters. The ” Tsena mora” is simply an opportunity to sell stocks out. As the ruling power opened the door to low-quality products, the Malagasy industry suffered losses, although consumers were not forcibly relieved.

Easy maths in sight, the HAT leader is pleased by this Blitzoperation. Andry Rajoelina still dares to deny any propaganda in this referendum referendum: “So many Malagasy people with low paid jobs are only earning 2000 ariary a day “. The ” Tsena mora” will however not exclusively be dedicated to them. Everyone in possession of the famous notebook delivered by the Fokontany is free to join. The project can supply 250 000 to 500 000 households all for most; for how long? that is the question. Could it reach the election campaign, it would already be a miracle.
