The town is located some 26 miles in the east of the capital city. Ambatomanga happens to be one these places which may be praised for having successfully preserved its traditional face, its red clay bricks buildings and its old school architecture. A lonely colossal piece of rock offering quite a peculiar sight bulges majestuously from the flat ground. The International Community seems to have decided to resort to drastic means when sending quite a strong delegation to Antananarivo address the development of the political situation on the Great Isle. International organizations like the SADC, the IOC and the African Union respectively sent their envoys to the front lines.
