7th edition of the musical festival “Angaredona” this year

This year, Angaredona, the largest musical festival in the Great Island is in its 7th edition. Originally created and initiated by the 2002 award-winner RFI World Music Prize, Rajery, Angaredona is intended to promote the musical diversity existing in the Great Island, and to make known some less popular but talented artists to the general public.

The current edition of Angaredona will then take place from September 20 to 26 in different music theaters of the capital, including the CGM, CCAC, Alliance Française of Antananarivo, the garden of Ambohijatovo and the RTA’s dome. About 30 local artists and 3 foreign guest ones will rock the stage during the 6 days of the festival. Some of the local artists participating in the festival are Miary Lepiera, Mami Bastah, Slam Jah, Ra-Georges, Baba, TGC, Mikea, To Kultur, and Jahleky. The guest artists include Aly Keita, Razia Saïd and Abdou Day.

As many international producers will be present during the whole festival, Malagasy artists intending to pursue international career must give their very best in order to appeal to the producers’ interests. In sum, festival like Angaredona is a complete showcase of the rich and diversified musical styles of Madagascar.
