They are called the Forces for Change. The pro Rajoelina Andry political parties want to impose their point after the Maputo agreement. Their main concern is the way to have their say on the role distribution decisions for the Transition’s period.
The reaction of political groupings simply looks like a beginning of dismissal of the Maputo agreement. One of the spokesmen, Richard Andriamanjato, a veteran of Malagasy politics, went as far as questioning again the international Contact Group mediators’ role.
« The country’s future mustn’t be decided in Maputo, but by Madagascans only », said Andriamanjato.
The objective of the Forces for Change is to dominate the next negotiation stage that will determine the different officials to be in charge within the Transition institutions.
The decision to distribute the government’s 28 ministerial portfolios between the big four mobilities, 7 per mobility, has been sharply criticized by the pro-Rajoelina political parties. They believe that other political forces have to be held in account.
Negotiations would have, anyhow, never been neither so fierce nor so polarized before the implementation of a political Transition wanted « neutral », « consensual » and « peaceful ».
