June 26th : The opposition turned the armed forces’ invitation down

The High Authority of Transition let the army draw the list of figures to be invited to celebrate June 26th, so that the VIP tier is not too bare. Not a bad idea, as some diplomats attended the official ceremony, as a response to the armed forces’ invitation. In the year 2009, not a single ambassador did so.

This time around, apart from the Vatican’s representative, the ambassadors of Turkey, Pakistan and France appeared

On the other side, the opposition organized the celebration its way. It will definitely be part of neither  of the ceremonies held in Mahamasina of in the presidential palace
