Sofitrans Group : Inauguration of a new duty free shop outside the airport area

The Sofitrans Group officially inaugurated last Friday its fifth duty free shop located outside the airport area.  This duty free shop destined for tourists is located right within the facilities of the Hotel des Thermes in Antsirabe. Otherwise, the group already possessed 4 duty free shops that are located in some airports around the country.

The Sofitrans Group started to invest in this type of shops 29 years ago. This means that now the group is equipped with a solid experience in this specific field. The group respects the laws and codes regulating duty free shops and constantly improves the quality of products it offers to its customers. The main objective is to avoid at all costs counterfeit products that abound on the market in recent time.

As far as the development of duty free shops is concerned, the group is in partnership with several actors in the tourism sector including tour operators, guides and hotels. Regarding the establishment of the new duty free shop, the Sofitrans Group hopes that the shop will help develop tourism in Antsirabe, given the fact that the City of Water possesses several interesting tourist sites waiting just to be exploited and visited.

As for the Hotel des Thermes, it’s been 15 years now that the Sofitrans Group takes care of the management of the hotel. The hotel has gone through difficult periods like any hotel in the Great Island. But it could overcome these periods thanks to its own efforts, and also thanks to the support provided by the government and other partners.
