Madagascar will host this year and for the second time, the 7th edition of the “Economic Forum of the Indian Ocean islands”, known as FEIOI. The event will take place in Taolagnaro on October 24, 25 and 26, 2011. Created at the same time as the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Indian Ocean islands, known as UCCIOI, in 2005, the FEIOI is born from the desire of regional economic operators to establish a strong platform destined to promote and strengthen commercial relationships among country members, including Madagascar, La Reunion, Mauritius, Seychelles, the Comoros and Mayotte, representing more than 23 million consumers.
The UCCIOI is the principal organizer of the Forum with the close collaboration of the host country. Thus, the 7th edition of FEIOI will be hosted by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Madagascar (FCCCIM). The event will be a major annual meeting for Consular Chambers of the Indian Ocean and for the private sector in the region.
It is also a great event to promote business meetings and a platform for reflection and dialogue that can lead to concerted and concrete actions on economic issues to promote commerce and private investment in the Indian Ocean region.
