Ambatovy: training and information session of 40 tourist guides

40 tourist guides followed last January a training and information session on the Ambatovy project which took place at the office of Madagascar National parks in Andasibe. These guides, coming from 03 guide associations, namely the Association of Guides of the Andasibe Park, « Mitsinjo » association, and « Tambatra » association.

Also present during the training were the field officers and employees of Madagascar National Parks who queried, among others, the environmental program of the Ambatovy project and its action plan for the preservation of environment and the conservation of biodiversity. The project aims to give tour guides as much information about their activities so that they will be able to provide adequate responses to the inevitable questions from park visitors about the environmental impacts of Ambatovy on conservation and development projects of the national park of Andasibe.

Ambatovy continues its information campaign among the surrounding community about the ins and outs of the company. So, such training is part of the project’s desire and goodwill to inform more in order to dispel any fears and often erroneous conceptions about several issues including the environment and health of the population.
