A natural pool on the heights of Marojejy

Its 60,130 Ha of forests owe the leading rank among the Great Isle’s northern part’s best available vacation resorts. The efforts of a one hour long march cannot be better rewarded but with a deserved relaxing bath in a natural pool nested in a green sanctuary as high as one thousand yards above sea water level. The hour long tour leads to this peculiar pool onto the heights of Marojejy. Bathing is allowed, any chemical products however strictly forbidden, first and foremost for the sake of preserving the pool’s natural features. The same trek provides with the opportunity to stare at the majestic waterfall roaring nearby. Patience, a two or three days long stay in the park, at the least, and a fair guide are the conditions to the discovery of the famous « Simpona » variety of lemur, endowed with white fur, to be seen nowhere but in the forest of Marojejy
