The imposed authority´s leader produced a pessimistic, slightly terrifying speech about the file Air Madagascar, during his communication offensive on the national television waves. As usual, anyone else but he was to be blamed for the incoming bad news. Andry Rajoelina announced nevertheless some measures to lead the national airline company to the path of recovery, namely concerning the renewal of the fleet.

Air Madagascar: when Andry Rajoelina teaching lessons

Air Madagascar loses money and brings gains to some others. So read Andry Rajoelina`s report. The HAT`s leader especially questioned the leasing contracts deemed to defend the aircrafts ´owners´ interests and revealed that a plane was being rented for 275 000 dollars a month.

This cost was basically everything but cheap, and increased even more in 2008 since the contract failed to be renewed. The national airline company had to rent a plane for 475 000 dollars a month. “The contract was deemed to run until 2014. Even though the aircrafts are not flying no more, we are going to have to pay the rent “, said the imposed authority´s leader.

Andry Rajoelina added that Air Madagascar had to support regular repair costs, although repairs have to be completed independently anyway. The imposed authority´s leader also added that the recent bad luck chances were a real bow “flat tires, brake related problems in China, or an incident with an escalator in Paris have driven us short from entering the black list “, he deplored.

“Every flight is bringing money for the plane´s owner at the end of the year, the company´s balance is however not “, summarized Andry Rajoelina. The trick? Calling the previous officials to account for having signed these contracts. “Every official must be conscious of being possibly called to accounts in the future about what they do now “.

Andry Rajoelina satirized about the single state owned Boeing aircraft. “For sure we have got one, but he has been bought for only one person “,  when referring to the presidential plane which he cannot use. The imposed authority`s leader regretted that “Air Madagascar could have purchased its own aircraft, had the hire-purchase been implemented.”

Andry Rajoelina promised to bring changes in the Air Madagascar company by purchasing Airbus aircrafts. “The national airline company must own its personal fleet” he emphasized.  “The State would keep its nose out, the company is going to collect funds to reform its fleet. But I´ll endorse the responsibility, market research has already been completed “. The political parameter is obviously playing a decisive role in this shift from the historical American provider to the european one.

Air Madagascar let it know that those measures would be accepted since they are being rated as aiming at the national airline company´s improvement. These controls operated by the SAFA (Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircrafts) are part of the constant and compulsory internal and external surveillance program. Air Madagascar`s board insured its customers and its partners that the company´s engagements would be honored, whatever is the nature and the impact of the European authorities´ decision.
