Before now, the capital was an access point, a transit center necessary for tourists to pass through en route to those more exotic coastal sites that adorn Madagascar?s coastline like Nosy Be and Saint Marie. Antananarivo city authorities are now decided to make of the capital city a tourist attraction in its own right. First steps taken have to do with the city center itself to assure a welcoming safe and cleaner perception. Our capitol city has indeed a unique historical aspect and skyline. Contrary to western practices, the Malagasy have always built their towns and villages on hills and slopes. Thus the physical layout of stairways and alleyways that provides to each their own particular view of the city in all its splendor.
