The Palace of Iavoloha, the official wishes presentation ceremony, and an opportunity to address the current situation of the country’s political turmoil. This was basically not scheduled, but neither was the crisis, was it? So, politicians could not help rubbing it in. Lire la suite »

Political crisis : artists, reporters and athletes are suggesting “general forgiveness” as a solution
The reporter and photographer Nary Ravonjy gathered artists, athletes as well as ten of his fellow colleagues around him in order to push for “general forgiveness” as the solution expected to pave the way for a long term settlement of the political crisis which has been undermining the Great Isle’s life. This is not forcibly the easiest way to go, though. Any eventual success will require reconciliation between all of the political figures, all of the political spheres and groups involved into the settlement of the Malagasy crisis. Nary Ravonjy has been addressing a certain “reconciliation of mediators” for a couple of years so far. The various groups involved into the mediation process actually often happen to disagree and struggle to recover any common stand afterwards. He mentioned as examples the FFKM (the Federation of Christian Churches), the FINOANA association, the on going dispute between the civilian society’s CNOSC and AOSC groups and even Raymond Ranjeva’s Citizens Committee for Reconciliation…a string of groups and an even longer string of individual points happening to pledge the standstill to an already complicated mediation as it was Lire la suite »

Omer Beriziky : five political figures must keep off the electoral race
Omer Beriziky, the transitional government’s prime minister is keen on extending the electoral red list. Ruling Marc Ravalomanana and Andry Rajoelina out of from the incoming elections is far from enough, according to his assessment. Five figures in all should remain on the bench away from the pitch, namely Marc Ravalomanana, Andry Rajoelina, Didier Ratsiraka, Albert Zafy and his own self, Omer Beriziky. He immediately emphasized that such a conclusion is merely his own personal point as simple citizen. In other words, the Prime Minister does not order anyone around. Definitely not. He merely openly addressed the issue with reporters Lire la suite »
Case Alain Ramaroson : the plaintiff puzzled, isn’t he ?
Andry Rajoelina, the transitional leader officially called upon appeasement in the run of this particular issue. The charges held against Alain Ramaroson, transitional parliament member, are dropped. Hajo Andrianainarivelo, the transitional deputy prime minister and plaintiff in this case, declared to have been stunned by such a decision, held as unacceptable. “I was once summoned to join the national state police station, and I obliged” he said. Alain Ramaroson will not have to emulate though, considering that he called a cavalry of parliamentarians to the rescue while entrenching himself in his home. State policemen lifted the siege following the drop of all charges against him. Look back to what so far happened: Hajo Andrianainarivelo reported Alain Ramaroson to the police for threats and defamation following a allegation publicly produced by Alain Ramaroson about Nadine Ramaroson’s death, his niece Lire la suite »
