The brand new president of the Social Democratic Party has officially resigned during the party’s national congress ceremony currently held in Antsohihy. He openly addressed the growing hostility between the children left by the first republic’s former late president and party founder Philibert Tsiranana. Ruffine Tsirananana used to be the single supporter of Fetison Andrianirina’s leadership of the PSD party. All of the first republic’s heirs stood against him apart from her. “Going forward this way is not likely to pledge any success in our projects. The unity which I was expecting to inspire makes sense if and only if all of the Party’s militants, its heirs and its supporters are joining hands without distinction and march together. On this account, I hereby regretfully announce to the party’s leading office and to all of its members my resignation from the Social Democratic Party’s presidency” declared Fetison Andrianirina in the Congress’ opening ceremony’s speech. Ruffine Tsiranana, the PSD party’s acting Secretary General, did not oppose the decision and immediately accepted the resignation. Both figures have long been in contact with each other inside Marc Ravalomanana’s political sphere since the beginning of the crisis back in 2009 Lire la suite »

Ravalomanana steps back, Rajoelina’s next move very much expected
Marc Ravalomananan declared his willingness to keep away from the year 2013’s presidential elections, and causes by the same way a wide variety of reactions. Some of the former president’s supporters do think that Ravalomanana has once again been fooled, while some others believe Ravalomanana to be giving in, most likely in expectation of a favor from the international community in exchange of such a decision. Such a favor would possibly be the authorization to recover Madagascar as early as possible. Lire la suite »

Norbert Ratsirahonana and Annick Rajaona expected to replace the transitional leader in Tanzania
The transitional leader preferred to leave the stage in Dar Es Salam to a couple of his closest advisors. A meeting between Andry Rajoelina and Marc Ravalomanana is basically meant to take place in Tanzania while the SADC is itself gathering in the country's Capital city, but the transitional leader rather sent his closest mentors, namely Norbert Ratsirahonana and Annick Rajaona in his own stead. They had a stopover in Nairobi, Kenya, and did not directly join Dar Es Salam as the other delegations did. Lire la suite »
Andry Rajoelina refuses to meet Marc Ravalomanana in Tanzania
The transitional leader Andry Rajoelina argued to have received no invitation to attend the SADC led next meeting in Tanzania with the former president Marc Ravalomanana, and does consequently not plan to get there at all. One more shot in the dark in the crisis settlement process, which mainly gravitates around both leading figures. As for Marc Ravalomanana, he and his closest advisors are already waiting in Tanzania, while the SADC’s troika addresses the Malagasy crisis related issue, among various other points, in the Capital city Dar Es Salaam. Tanzania would have willingly welcomed another head to head round of talks between both leading figures, a round which in the end, will fail from coming true at all. Lire la suite »
