The expected encounter between Malagasy army commanders and the SADC’s officers
The military delegation sent by the SADC led by General Trevor Meyer, from South Africa, and General Charles Jitenga from Tanzania, will have their first contact with the whole of the Malagasy army’s ruling tier including the national police forces‘ top command. Everything developed in the Colbert hotel’s big hall in Antaninarenina. The Malagasy headquarter was led by Lucien Rakotoarimasy, the transitional defense minister. The home security department’s leader, Arsene Rakotondrazaka, and every other military department commanders attended the meeting. Census of potential voters underway
The National Independent Electoral Commission’s agents are currently roaming through the streets and visiting homes in order to conduct their census of voters. They are in general more or less welcome but definitely not every time though. The National Independent Electoral Commission intends to complete this census within a month, proceed with updating electoral registers, and make them ready for the elections expected to take place in 2013. For the time being, political parties jointly push everyone aged more than 18 years old to join polling boxes. The census has however already suffered delays. Power transfer at the national state police
Military parade was scheduled early in the morning on October,11th. The official power transfer process in which general Richard Ravalomanana and general Bruno Razafindrakoto were casting, was completed in a Spartan ceremony, attended by the transitional leader.
