Sea accident: the investigation´s first results

The preliminary investigation brought the circumstances of the accident which claimed the HAT´s Population minister´s life Nadine Ramaroson to light . Islands Games: fourth ! what a poor rank

The results were not the greatest ever, let alone fair play. The whole of the Malagasy delegation was more than disappointing, athletes as well as the minister. The gold medals gathered in athletics proved not enough either to cover a disastrous campaign up, or rescue the country's image. The sports´ HAT Minister´s delegation´s poor quality can be substantiated. With a fourth place on the gold medals table, Madagascar did not quite manage it right. Customs strike: Act II

Custom officers working in Antanimena renewed their strike triggered more than a month ago by a rosewood case. Police intervention forces entered the customs facilities in order to protect employees longing for keeping on working. There were actually persons inside keeping on doing their office. Tobacco: public health or public profits?

Madagascar is light years away from turning into a no smoking country. Sensitization campains unequivocally failed to slow the consumption down, particularly that of the youth. The tobacco business got a taste of the crisis as exports plummeted. The local market remains however attractive for the Group Imperial Tobacco which gathers corporations exploiting tobacco. Academic return: the SECES keeps holding on

The teaching searchers´ union doesn't give in. The academic year 2011 remains jeopardized. The HAT´s minister in charge of superior education has well announced the administrative return´s date for the six universities, but it was a shot in the dark. Front line media: discrimination against the online press

Most of Malagasy information websites are generally rejected by the HAT´s communication minister but a couple of them. The discrimination against online journalists officially being justified by a law drafted in the 1990s which doesn't consider internet like a media. Lire la suite »

Press world: more media groups, less reporters!

The HAT´s communication department used the world press freedom day to unleash reporters. Although media groups blossomed throughout the transitional period, the number of press professionals recognized by the ministry plummeted by more than 20% in 2011. Academic year 2011: tense expectation

The crisis related to universities is half way from being solved and from exploding. The year 2011´s academic return has not yet taken place. The latest call off was announced in April. Afro-basketball Men: Madagascar is the steadiest country in Africa!

The HAT´s prime minister is allowed to cheer to victory... for once. The international Basketball Federation granted the organization of the Men´s African basketball championship or Afro Basketball Men 2011 to Madagascar. The Malagasy federation won thanks to an interior political situation rated as steadier than in any other candidate countries. Camille Vital appeared delighted by this" international recognition ".
