Eden Lodge Hotel certified Green Globe

The Eden Lodge Hotel is the first of its kind to obtain the Green Globe Certification in the country. This certification demonstrates the excellent performance of the hotel in terms of environmental preservation and sustainable tourism. The certification is considered as a strong signal of recognition of the establishment as regards to its authentic eco-lodges, its choice of hotel management, its management of sustainable development and its involvement in the local economy. The Eden Lodge Hotel has also achieved great performances in terms of sustainable development and provides an essential guarantee for its customers.

The hotel is located near the tourist areas, within an isolated protected nature reserve, in the archipelago of Nosy Be. What makes the hotel so particular is that it is the only luxury hotel in the world running entirely on solar energy. Consequently, in 2009, it was selected by the magazine “Hotel & Lodge” to be one of the 10 most beautiful lodges in the world. Only the laundry room, including washing and ironing, uses an electric generator which runs only two hours a day.
